On October 14, 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia, Eduards Stiprais. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The parties discussed the current state of Turkmen-European cooperation and prospects for its expansion, taking into account mutual interests.

Particular attention was paid to political and diplomatic ties, trade and economic cooperation, as well as cooperation in the fields of transport, energy, environmental protection and professional training.

The participants of the meeting confirmed their interest in maintaining regular contacts and developing the partnership within the framework of existing bilateral and regional mechanisms.
