The Turkmenistan U-17 national team defeated the Maldives 6-0 in the second round of the 2026 Asian Cup qualifying round. The match took place on 24 November in Chonburi, Thailand, according to Turkmenportal.

Thirty-eight teams are participating in the qualifiers, divided into seven groups. The games are being played in a single round from 22 to 30 November.

The group winners will advance to the final stage of the tournament, which will be held in Saudi Arabia from 7 to 24 May 2026. Nine teams have already secured their participation: Qatar, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, North Korea, Japan, Tajikistan, the UAE and Indonesia.
