On 3 October, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov presented a report on the work of the Foreign Affairs Ministry for the first nine months of this year. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.
During this period, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov made official visits to Russia, China, the United States, Japan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Mongolia. The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, visited France, Monaco, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Tatarstan.
In August, the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries was held in the ‘Avaza’ National Tourist Zone, attended by leaders of a number of states.
An important event was the visit of the Turkmen delegation to New York (21–24 September), where the President of Turkmenistan addressed the 80th session of the UN General Assembly and held meetings with the leaders of several countries.
Since the beginning of the year, 433 online meetings and 2,063 negotiations at various levels have been held, and 134 international documents have been signed. Inter-ministerial consultations and contacts with the EU and other international organisations are active.
After hearing the report, Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to continue strengthening international cooperation and to carefully prepare for the upcoming events dedicated to the anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality.
