A representative of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan took part in the conference ‘Young Women 4 Peace Initiative: Empowering Central Asian Young Women’, which was held in Vienna under the auspices of the OSCE Secretariat. This was reported by the press service of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.

The discussions focused on creating conditions for the full participation of women in public life, as well as sharing experiences in this area. Participants heard a number of reports on the implementation of women's rights and their role in the development of society.

Special attention was paid to UN Security Council Resolution No. 1325 ‘Women, Peace and Security,’ which affirms the importance of women's participation in strengthening peace and security, as well as in preventing and resolving conflicts.

The representative of the Mejlis shared the country's experience in this area, emphasising the active participation of women in Turkmenistan in international initiatives.
