Representatives of the Turkmenistan Football Federation took part in an international FIFA conference on specialist training and the exchange of expertise. The forum took place on 15–19 September 2026 in Bishkek as part of the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS), according to the IIC of Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan was represented at the event by Rovshen Meredov, Technical Director of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan, and Shohrat Arjanov, TDS Project Manager.

The main topics of the conference were the development of youth football, the improvement of training methods and the identification of promising players. FIFA experts and representatives of regional federations discussed methods for the early identification of talent and their training, taking into account modern physical and tactical requirements.

Participants also examined issues relating to the introduction of new approaches to the work of national team youth structures and the development of cooperation between football federations and academies. Particular attention was paid to the outcomes of the 2025–2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup and current trends in the development of football.

Alongside the theoretical sessions, the Turkmen specialists took part in a practical programme at the Bishkek Arena stadium and the Muras training centre.

It is planned to use the knowledge and experience gained during the conference to further develop youth football in Turkmenistan and to introduce modern standards for player development.
