Following a foreign policy based on the principles of positive neutrality and peacefulness, Turkmenistan is consistently developing mutually beneficial relations with various countries, as well as with authoritative international and regional structures. In this context, the Organisation of Turkic States plays a significant role.
Turkmenistan traditionally puts forward constructive initiatives aimed at developing long-term cooperation in the interests of sustainable peace and common prosperity. The participation of the Hero Arkadag in the current OTS summit is a clear confirmation of this policy.
The Organisation of Turkic States unites countries whose peoples are linked by a common history, language and culture. Established in 2009, the OTS aims to strengthen cooperation between Turkic peoples in various fields. Currently, the organisation includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan. Turkmenistan and Hungary participate in its work as observers.
The organisation actively promotes the development of Turkic culture, implements joint programmes in the fields of science, education and art, and interacts with international structures, including the UN, OSCE and SCO. In 2022, the OTS was granted observer status at the UN, which strengthened its international authority.
With its observer status, Turkmenistan occupies a special place within the Organization of Turkic States, consistently implementing a foreign policy based on the principle of positive neutrality and supporting participation in regional initiatives.
