During his official visit to Italy, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Stefano Pontecorvo, Chairman of ‘Leonardo S.p.A.’, according to the state news agency TDH.

The Italian businessman noted that the results of the negotiations would give new impetus to the development of partnership between the two countries and expressed pride in the company's participation in projects being implemented in Turkmenistan.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked him for the warm welcome, emphasised the importance of Rome as a cultural, political and economic centre of Europe, and noted that Italy remains one of Turkmenistan's key partners in the region.

The parties confirmed their desire to strengthen bilateral relations and develop cooperation in energy, transport, agriculture and high technology.

Following the meeting, the intention was expressed to continue expanding business contacts on the basis of mutual interests and long-term partnership.
