In January-April 2025, transit cargo turnover in Turkmenistan increased by almost 20% compared to the same period last year. Road transport increased by 25%, railway transport - by 6%. This is reported by the news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.

In total, more than 2 million tonnes of cargo transited the border. The growth of indicators was ensured by measures to develop transport infrastructure, expand logistics corridors and create conditions for uninterrupted transit.

In addition, checkpoints were modernised: the material and technical base was upgraded and digital technologies were introduced into the work of customs.
