President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking at a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty, emphasised the importance of developing transport infrastructure in the West-East and North-South directions. This was reported by the news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.

Head of State noted the active development of passenger and freight transport by all modes of transport and the use of the country's international transit potential.

According to Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan is cooperating with the UN and other international organisations, as well as working on the development of the China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran transport corridor and the creation of a multimodal route from the Asia-Pacific region to Europe.

The country will continue to build transport and social infrastructure facilities and strengthen the material and technical base of the transport and communications complex.
