On 14 October, in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan Mekan Ishangulyev met with Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission Mohamed El-Amine Souef. This was reported by the news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.
The parties discussed the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and African countries, which is reaching a new level, as evidenced by the participation of high-level delegations from Africa in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.
The Ambassador emphasised that strengthening friendly and mutually beneficial relations with African states is one of the priorities of Turkmenistan's foreign policy. The Deputy Chairman of the Commission highly appreciated the potential for cooperation in energy, chemical industry, agriculture and culture.
