On 7 October, Rashid Meredov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, met with Gordan Grlić Radman, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in politics, economics, culture and the humanitarian sphere, emphasising the importance of high-level contacts.
Particular attention was paid to cooperation within international organisations, including the UN, EU and OSCE, as well as support for Turkmenistan's neutral status.
Trade and economic ties, including shipbuilding, pharmaceuticals, construction, textiles, high technology and tourism, were identified as important areas of partnership, with an emphasis on the work of the Turkmen-Croatian Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation.
The expansion of the contractual basis and the strengthening of cooperation in education, science and healthcare, as well as the development of cultural and humanitarian ties, were also discussed.
Following the negotiation, a Cooperation Programme between the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan and the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Croatia for 2026–2027 was signed. On the same day, a business forum was held in Ashgabat with the participation of representatives of the business communities of both countries.
