Turkmenistan has initiated the declaration of 2028 as the Year of International Law

At the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposed declaring 2028 the Year of International Law. This was reported by IIC.

The Head of State stressed that strengthening the rule of international law is key to enhancing the role of the UN in global processes.

According to the Head of State of Turkmenistan, this initiative will contribute to strengthening the foundations of peace and cooperation, reflecting Turkmenistan's commitment to neutrality, dialogue and mutual respect.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that international law serves as the foundation for a just world order based on the equality of states, non-interference and the peaceful settlement of disputes.

The proclamation of the Year of International Law, according to the Head of State, will draw the attention of the world community to the importance of these principles.
