Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan Rahimberdi Jepbarov met with President of the OPEC Fund for International Development Dr Abdulhamid Alkhalifa on 23 May 2025. This was reported by the IIC.

The parties discussed the implementation of the Country Partnership Framework (CPF), the five-year Roadmap of which was signed in 2024. The focus was on developing transport infrastructure, modernising industry and telecommunications, improving health systems, and supporting the banking sector. Special emphasis was placed on climate finance, development of women and youth entrepreneurship, and support for SMEs.

The OPEC Fund has been a reliable partner of Turkmenistan since 1999, participating in the implementation of important socio-economic projects.
