On 6 November, Turkmenistan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Malaysia, Muhammetniyaz Mashalov, held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Togar Simatupang, according to the online news resource TerraNews.

The negotiations focused on the development of cooperation in the field of education, science and technology. The parties discussed the preparation of a memorandum of understanding in the field of higher education.

The Indonesian side expressed its readiness to offer Turkmenistan educational programmes, including the allocation of study places for students.
