Last week, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the SCO summit in Tianjin (China) and held a series of meetings in Beijing, where he discussed expanding cooperation with China in energy, transport, logistics and humanitarian spheres. Particular attention was paid to the gas industry and new agreements in this area, according to the state news agency TDH.

On 1 September, Turkmenistan celebrated Knowledge Day: new universities, schools and kindergartens were opened, and first-graders received computers. Modern educational and sports facilities were put into operation in the cities of Mary and Ashgabat, and agreements were signed with foreign universities.

Mass sowing of winter wheat and preparations for the cotton harvest campaign began. The Cabinet of Ministers meeting addressed issues of the economy, digitalisation and preparations for the Halk Maslahaty meeting.

A meeting was held with the leadership of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, where new projects in the gas sector and industry were discussed. Turkmenistan also sent humanitarian aid to the victims of the earthquake in Afghanistan.

The President of Turkmenistan held a meeting of the State Security Council, where issues of strengthening the security forces and preparations for the military parade were raised. Cultural events and children's competitions were held in the country to mark the 34th anniversary of independence.

These events reflected the country's commitment to strengthening international ties, developing the economy and education, and supporting cultural and humanitarian initiatives.
