On behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship sent humanitarian aid to Afghanistan for those affected by the earthquake. This was reported by the news website Asmannews.
The decision was made after discussions at a meeting of the Fund's Board, where it was noted that Turkmenistan had reacted with sympathy to the news of numerous casualties and destruction in the neighbouring country.
The humanitarian aid, including medicines, medical supplies, textiles and food, was sent in accordance with the traditions of mutual assistance and good neighbourliness. The ceremony was attended by representatives of state and public organisations, as well as diplomatic representatives of Afghanistan.
Support for the Afghan people is seen as a continuation of Turkmenistan's foreign policy aimed at strengthening cooperation with neighbouring states and developing humanitarian initiatives. The dispatch of aid underscores the desire to support those affected and to reinforce the principles of humanism and mutual support.
