President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent congratulations to participants and guests of the international chess tournament for athletes aged 8, 10 and 12, held in Ashgabat. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

The Head of State noted the importance of the competition for strengthening international sports cooperation and promoting the ideas of peace and friendship.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that Turkmenistan is actively developing its sports infrastructure and training professional personnel, viewing sport as an important tool for international dialogue.

The President of Turkmenistan paid special attention to chess, calling it part of the national cultural heritage and an effective means of intellectual education for young people.

The Head of State expressed confidence that the tournament will not only improve the skills of the participants, but also leave guests with warm impressions of Turkmenistan.
