The President of Turkmenistan outlined the key priorities for the country's development

At a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty on 19 September, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the people of the country on the 34th anniversary of independence, wishing them health, happiness and success in their endeavours. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

Head of State noted that over the years of independence, large-scale economic reforms have been carried out, the country's international authority has been strengthened, and the standard of living of the population has improved.

The President of Turkmenistan said that the meeting would set out tasks for the further development of the state, adopt important documents and continue the implementation of investment and social programmes, including the construction of new residential complexes, the modernisation of infrastructure and the development of regions. Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted GDP growth, improvements in budgetary policy and the successful attraction of foreign investment.

The Head of State noted achievements in the oil and gas sector, the construction of industrial and innovative facilities, and the development of energy, transport and communications infrastructure. The President of Turkmenistan also highlighted successes in agriculture, including wheat and cotton cultivation, the development of livestock and poultry farming, and measures to protect the environment.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised the development of education, healthcare, culture, sports and international cooperation, including with UNESCO and the UN. The Head of State noted the holding of international forums and initiatives aimed at strengthening peace, trust and sustainable development.

In conclusion, the President of Turkmenistan stressed that the main goal remains to enhance the authority of Turkmenistan, the prosperity of the country and the living standards of the people. The Head of State once again congratulated the citizens on Independence Day and wished for the further development of the country and the well-being of the people.
