During his working visit to Kazakhstan to participate in the second ‘Central Asia – China’ summit, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held talks with President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping. This was reported by the news website Turkmenportal.

The parties discussed topical issues of bilateral interaction and cooperation at the regional level. The focus was on trade and economic relations, energy, infrastructure and transport and communication projects, as well as humanitarian exchanges.

During the meeting, the productive nature of the established dialogue mechanism between the countries of Central Asia and China was noted. Xi Jinping gave a positive assessment of the current state of Turkmen-Chinese relations, emphasising the strategic nature of the partnership.

The parties expressed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation, which, according to them, is facilitated by the high level of mutual trust and friendly relations between the countries.
