The President of Turkmenistan signed a number of documents in honour of the 34th anniversary of independence

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a number of important documents ahead of the country's 34th anniversary of independence. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

In accordance with the Decree of the Head of State, an act of pardon was carried out on the occasion of the national holiday. A number of convicted citizens were released from further serving their sentences.

In addition, the President of Turkmenistan signed a Resolution granting the right of residence in the country to a group of foreign citizens. The document was adopted on the basis of the Law ‘On Migration’ and in line with international norms for the protection of human rights and freedoms. State authorities have been instructed to ensure that the necessary documents are drawn up for foreign citizens and stateless persons.

The Head of State also approved the composition of the Turkmen-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation on the Turkmen side. The decision was taken with a view to implementing the Agreement on Economic Cooperation between the Governments of Turkmenistan and Hungary and is aimed at further developing bilateral cooperation.
