The President of Turkmenistan received the Head of the Asian Development Bank

On 11 November, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Masato Kanda, who arrived in Ashgabat on an official visit. This was reported by the news resource AsmanNews.

During the meeting, Masato Kanda expressed his gratitude for the reception and emphasised the significant contribution of neutral Turkmenistan to strengthening peace and stability in Central Asia. He also noted that the ADB highly appreciates the large-scale reforms being implemented in the country, aimed at diversifying the national economy and developing the private sector.

The Head of State warmly welcomed the Head of the international financial institution and expressed confidence that the visit would contribute to strengthening dialogue and expanding bilateral economic cooperation.

The President of Turkmenistan noted that Turkmenistan supports the expansion of ADB's cooperation with national banks and the private sector, including in the field of small and medium-sized enterprises. The importance of joint work in the field of financial, credit and consulting services was particularly emphasised.

Strengthening partnership in the fuel and energy complex was also identified as a promising area of cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged best wishes, expressing confidence in the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation.

During the visit of Masato Kanda, President of the Asian Development Bank, to Turkmenistan, a number of meetings were held, resulting in the signing of:

- An Agreement between Turkmenistan and the ADB on financing the construction of a secondary medical school in Ashgabat;

- A document on cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and the ADB in the field of technical support.
