The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus, Nazar Gulyyev Shagulyyev, visited Francysk Skaryna Gomel State University (GSU), where Turkmen students are studying. During a meeting with the university rector Sergey Khakhomov, the parties discussed the state of academic cooperation, students’ study and living conditions, as well as prospects for launching joint educational programs and expanding inter-university exchanges, according to the Orient news agency.
As part of the visit, a cultural and educational event was held with the participation of the university administration, faculty members, and students. An exhibition of decorative and applied arts, paintings, and folklore materials prepared by students was organized in the lobby of the academic building. The creative ensemble “Ashgabat” also performed, presenting traditional Turkmen dances.
In his speech, Ambassador Nazar Gulyyev Shagulyyev highlighted the significance of the motto: “Independent, neutral Turkmenistan – the homeland of purposeful winged steeds.” He emphasized its connection to the country’s historical heritage and youth policy. The diplomat congratulated students on the upcoming 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence. The event concluded with a presentation video on the country’s socio-economic development.
