2025, declared the International Year of Peace and Trust, coincides with two important dates: the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the United Nations. These events underscore the country's commitment to constructive cooperation and global dialogue, according to the news website Asmannews.

The key event will be the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which will take place from 4 to 8 August in the ‘Avaza’ National Tourist Zone. More than 30 countries, international organisations, business representatives and the media are involved in the preparations. International support was confirmed by the adoption of a resolution by the UN General Assembly, co-sponsored by 57 countries.

The conference will feature thematic forums, round tables, exhibitions, cultural events and high-level meetings. Special attention will be paid to transport, digitalisation, sustainable development and the expansion of international cooperation.

‘Avaza’ is becoming an important centre for international diplomacy and demonstrates Turkmenistan's infrastructure achievements. In 2022, it hosted the UN Ministerial Transport Conference of Landlocked Developing Countries.

Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlights the key role of transport connectivity for landlocked countries. Turkmenistan's proposals focus on creating efficient logistics, developing energy, environmental safety, and strengthening dialogue.

The conference will serve as a platform for developing joint solutions aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, which Turkmenistan is approaching with a high degree of responsibility, cooperating with relevant UN structures.

The holding of the forum once again confirms the international community's recognition of Turkmenistan's peaceful policy and its contribution to strengthening global partnership.
