Turkmen athletes are participating in the 3rd CIS Games, which are being held from 28 September to 8 October in Azerbaijan. This was reported by the online publication Arzuw News.

The sporting event has brought together over 1,600 participants from Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

In addition to the CIS countries, athletes from Turkey, Cuba, Kuwait, Pakistan and Oman have joined the competition. The Games programme includes 23 sports, including swimming, sambo, judo, basketball, football, Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling.

The competitions will be held at 12 sports venues in seven cities of Azerbaijan.
