On 14 June, a working meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov and Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Kaha Imnadze. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the talks, the parties discussed the prospects for Turkmenistan's participation in the UNRCCA's programmes and projects aimed at strengthening stability and security in the Central Asian region. Particular attention was paid to preparations for the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, where Turkmenistan traditionally puts forward constructive initiatives.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan emphasised his country's commitment to the principles of preventive diplomacy and the importance of a multilateral approach to resolving regional issues. The parties also noted the significance of Turkmenistan's humanitarian activities based on the ideals of international solidarity and support.
The meeting confirmed Turkmenistan's active position in implementing the UN's goals and its readiness to further strengthen cooperation with the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy.
