On 27 November, Turkmenistan's Foreign Affairs Minister Rashid Meredov had a phone conversation with Sri Lanka's Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath. This was reported by the press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.

The parties discussed the development of bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest and noted effective cooperation within international organisations, primarily the UN.

Special attention was paid to the International Forum, which will be held in Turkmenistan on 12 December 2025 and will be dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality, the International Year of Peace and Trust, and the International Day of Neutrality.
