Turkmenistan and Malawi discussed expanding bilateral cooperation

On 2 July, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Malawi, Nancy Tembo. During the talks, the diplomats reviewed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, expressing mutual interest in strengthening cooperation in various areas. This was reported by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.

Special attention was paid to preparations for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC-3). The Ministers exchanged views on pressing issues on the international and regional agenda.

The parties confirmed their intention to develop political dialogue and strengthen cooperation in multilateral forums. At the end of the talks, the need for further contacts to implement joint initiatives was emphasised.
