On 5 August, on the sidelines of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC 3), Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov met with a delegation of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) headed by Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia Artur Erken. This was reported by the press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.

The sides discussed current cooperation and priority areas for interaction. IOM representatives expressed gratitude to Turkmenistan for its active position in promoting the principles of safe and legal migration.

The effectiveness of Turkmenistan's cooperation with international organisations was noted, as well as the importance of holding LLDC 3 in the country. The Turkmen side confirmed its readiness to continue participating in IOM initiatives.
