Turkmenistan and India discussed economic cooperation

Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Mergen Gurdov held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat on 29 May. This was reported by the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.

The central topic of the talks was the expansion of trade and economic interaction between the two countries, as well as discussion of prospects for cooperation within the framework of the India-Central Asia Business Council.

During the talks, the sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of partnership in key sectors - trade, industry, investment, energy, agriculture, transport and logistics, as well as in the field of high technologies.

The sides stressed the importance of organising joint business forums, exhibitions and promotional events within the framework of the Business Council, which will contribute to the expansion of business contacts and creation of favourable conditions for business.

At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual focus on further strengthening of bilateral ties and expansion of partnership in all areas of interaction.
