Turkmenistan and Georgia expand cooperation on parliamentary level

On 23 January, the Georgian Parliament hosted a meeting between D. Seyitmammedov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Georgia, and D. Matikashvili, Chairman of the Georgian Parliament's Committee on Procedural Issues and Head of the Georgian-Turkmen Interparliamentary Friendship Group. This was reported by the publication ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.

The parties discussed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation. They talked about interaction in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as within the framework of international organisations.

The growth of Turkmen-Georgian contacts at the parliamentary level was noted. The role of high-level visits and regular dialogue between parliamentarians was emphasised. Special attention was paid to the development of cooperation between interparliamentary friendship groups.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to further strengthen their partnership in all areas.
