On 1 July this year, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and his counterpart from Burkina Faso, Karamoko Jean-Marie Traoré. During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for the development of interstate relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. This was reported by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.
Special attention was paid to preparations for the Third Conference of Landlocked Developing Countries, which will be held in August 2025 in the Turkmen national tourist zone ‘Avaza’. The ministers also discussed opportunities for cooperation within international organisations, including the UN and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
The parties noted the significant potential for deepening the partnership between the two countries and agreed to continue consultations on pressing issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda.
