Turkmenistan has proposed holding the Ahal-Teke Championship every five years

The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, addressed an open meeting of the International Association of Ahal-Teke Breeding in Kronenberg (Netherlands). During his speech, Hero Arkadag proposed considering the possibility of holding major international events and championships in Ahal-Teke horse breeding every five years, reports the TDH news agency.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also called for strengthening cooperation between international associations, including the coordination of educational and research work, as well as the exchange of historical materials and information.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan highlighted the need to expand the participation of Ahal-Teke horses in international competitions. In this regard, it was proposed to develop training programmes for young horses in line with international standards for dressage and show jumping.

As part of the events in Kronenberg, beauty and dressage competitions for Ahal-Teke horses of various ages were held, along with show jumping competitions, a scientific and practical conference, and international exhibitions. The programme was further enriched by performances by the ‘Galkynyş’ national equestrian games group and representatives of Turkmen culture and the arts.
