Resul Muradov, Chairman of the State Concern “Turkmenkhimiya,” spoke at a panel discussion on the monetization of natural gas and the development of the gas chemistry industry as part of the international conference and exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan — 2026” (OGT 2026). The discussion took place on October 22, the second day of the event, according to Turkmenportal.

Muradov noted that the efficient use of raw materials, the introduction of innovative technologies, and the production of high-value-added products are becoming increasingly important for the global energy sector. For Turkmenistan, which possesses significant natural gas reserves, the development of the gas chemical industry is one of the key areas for economic diversification.

Gas monetization involves increasing economic returns through the deep processing of raw materials and the expansion of finished product manufacturing. Natural gas is used to produce synthetic motor fuel, polyethylene, polypropylene, methanol, ammonia, urea, and other chemical products.

Deep processing makes it possible to create new production chains, expand the product range, and increase the country’s export potential.

The chairman of “Turkmenchemistry” also spoke about the group’s activities in the production of mineral fertilizers and chemical products. The group’s structure includes a plant for producing gasoline from natural gas in the Ahal velayat and enterprises that manufacture fertilizers.

Particular attention is paid to the production of nitrogen fertilizers, including ammonia and urea. The development of this sector helps ensure that the agricultural sector has the necessary resources and strengthens food security.

Implementing projects for advanced gas processing requires significant investment, modern engineering solutions, and international cooperation. The experience of building a plant to produce gasoline from natural gas demonstrates the importance of collaboration with foreign partners in implementing complex industrial projects.

Promising areas of cooperation include the modernization of enterprises, equipment supply, the implementation of digital control systems, and the improvement of processing technologies. Muradov also highlighted the training of specialists, scientific and technical exchange, industrial automation, improving energy efficiency, and the development of environmental management.

In closing his remarks, the head of “Turkmenkhimiya” reaffirmed the concern’s interest in adopting cutting-edge technologies, strengthening international ties, and implementing new projects in the chemical industry.
