At the XXI Altyn Minbar International Film Festival in Kazan, the Turkmen-Uzbek film Magtymguly Pyragy was awarded a diploma from the ‘Russia-Islamic World’ programme. The film's director, Muzaffarhon Erkinov, received recognition for his masterful combination of the cultures of the two countries in a film that continues to inspire modern audiences. This was reported by IIC.

The film immerses viewers in the events of the XVIII century, telling the story of the fate of the outstanding Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Pyragy. Viewers witness his life and creative journey, revealing the origins of philosophical ideas about humanism, brotherhood and peace.

Turkmenistan played a key role in the creation of the film, initiating the project and providing access to national archives and historical locations. This ensured a high degree of authenticity in recreating the era. The advisory support of Turkmen specialists made it possible to achieve depth in the artistic concept.

The award highlights the importance of Turkmenistan's contribution to preserving our shared cultural heritage and strengthening inter-ethnic dialogue. Winning this award confirms the country's reputation as an active participant in international cultural projects and a centre for peace initiatives.
