From 17 to 26 October, a delegation from Myrat Garryyev State Medical University of Turkmenistan visited Beijing to participate in the World Congress on Traditional Medicine 2026 and the Education Forum on Traditional Medicine. The events were held to mark the 70th anniversary of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, reports the press service of Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Education.

Participants discussed the integration of traditional and modern medicine, as well as the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in healthcare. Particular attention was given to more than a decade of cooperation between the universities and the operation of a specialised Chinese medicine classroom at the Turkmen university.

During the visit, the delegation attended celebrations marking the anniversary of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Meetings were also held with the university’s leadership and representatives of its International Cooperation Department.

The sides agreed to continue cooperation in specialist and student training, curriculum development and joint scientific research.
