Turkmen athletes won two bronze medals at the 3rd CIS Games

The Turkmenistan national team finished the III CIS Games with two bronze medals. The competitions were held in seven cities of Azerbaijan and brought together more than 1,600 athletes from 13 countries. This was reported by the news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.

The first award for Turkmenistan was won by 16-year-old boxer Hangeldi Lukmanov (weight up to 52 kg), trained by coach Nursahet Pazzyev. The second bronze medal was won by Greco-Roman wrestler Aslan Agadadayev (up to 110 kg), who had previously distinguished himself at the Asian Youth Championships in Vietnam.

The Turkmen delegation consisted of 56 people, including 36 athletes competing in seven disciplines, from boxing and wrestling to swimming and taekwondo. At the end of the competition, the Turkmenistan team took eighth place in the overall standings, ahead of Pakistan, Turkey, Cuba, Kuwait and Oman.
