Turkmen athlete becomes three-time Asian champion in hand-to-hand combat

On 15 November, Pattaya (Thailand) hosted the OPEN ASIAN CUP international martial arts tournament. Athletes from several Asian countries took part in the competition, according to IIC.

Young athlete Amangeldi Garabegov from Turkmenistan competed in the hand-to-hand combat category for boys aged 12–13 (up to 45 kg) and won the gold medal. This is his third victory in continental tournaments.

Amangeldi Garabegov became a three-time Asian champion. His result strengthened Turkmenistan's position in international sports competitions and demonstrates the potential of the country's young fighters.
