Students from the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan successfully participated in the ‘World Sustainable Development Goal Challenge’ (WSDG 2025) competition organised by Multimedia University and the Malaysian Young Scientists Organisation. This was reported by the news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.

More than 2,100 scientific works by students from 15 countries participated in the competition. The gold medal and the ‘WSDG Innovation Grand Award’ went to Suleymanmuhammet Shamuhammedov, a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Chemical Technology, for his work ‘Scientific Foundations for the Production of Green Cement for Sustainable Development,’ dedicated to environmentally friendly methods of cement production and efficient energy use.

The gold medal and prize ‘Best Innovation in Sustainable Development’ was awarded to the work ‘Innovative Technology for Producing Pure Gypsum from Phosphogypsum—an Industrial Waste’, prepared by Aymyrat Halnazarov, a third-year student of the Faculty of Chemical Technology, and Jemal Sharipova, a third-year student of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering. The study proposed an environmentally friendly and economically viable method of processing industrial waste into building materials.

The scientific supervisor of the national team, Atamyrat Altyev, Candidate of Technical Sciences, made a significant contribution to these successes.
