Ten athletes of Turkmenistan's national kyokushin karate team successfully performed at the X international tournament in Gyumri, Armenia, held on 10-11 May. Under the guidance of coach Atamyrat Khudaiberdiyev, the national team won 10 medals of various merits. This is reported by IIC of Turkmenistan.

Turkmen karate fighters showed brilliant results, winning 3 gold medals, 4 silver and 3 bronze awards. The delegation of Turkmenistan included international category judges Tirkish Korov and Tachli Saparov, who ensured objective refereeing at the competitions.

This tournament was an important stage of preparation for the World Championship to be held from 28 November to 1 December in Maebashi, Japan. According to the Kyokushinkai Karate Federation of Turkmenistan, the main task of the athletes is to demonstrate maximum results in each weight category at the upcoming world championship.
