Turkmen weightlifter Shabnam Kerimbayeva set two junior world records at the World Championships in the Chinese city of Ningbo. According to the Orient news agency, the athlete competes in the up to 57 kg weight category (W57).

In the snatch, Kerimbayeva lifted 89 kg, setting a junior world record in this event. In the clean and jerk, the athlete recorded a result of 112 kg, while her total in the two lifts amounted to 201 kg — also a new world record among juniors.

The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) announced the achievements of the Turkmen weightlifter.

It was previously reported that 10 athletes are representing Turkmenistan at the World Championships in Ningbo. The competition runs from October 27 to November 8, 2026.
