In the first half of 2025, trade turnover between Turkmenistan and the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan reached $9.2 million, which is 19% more than a year earlier. This was reported by the online publication ‘Business Turkmenistan’.

According to the akimat, exports from Kazakhstan amounted to $2 million, while imports from Turkmenistan amounted to $7.2 million. There are 20 joint ventures with Turkmen capital operating in the region, engaged in scrap metal, construction and the production of building materials.

According to statistics, the total trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan in 2024 amounted to $554 million, with the countries planning to increase this figure to $1 billion.
