On 21 October 2025, during an official visit to Georgia, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili. This was reported by the online news resource TerraNews.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed priority areas of Turkmen-Georgian cooperation, paying particular attention to strengthening political dialogue and developing cooperation in the economic and cultural spheres.
It was emphasised that regular contacts at the highest and high levels play an important role in strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The interlocutors noted the constructive nature of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Georgia in the international arena, including within the framework of the United Nations, where the parties traditionally support each other's initiatives.
The President of Georgia highly appreciated Turkmenistan's neutral foreign policy, noting its contribution to strengthening peace and stability, as well as the broad support it receives in the international community.
