The company of the guard of honour of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan took part in the solemn military parade held on May 9 on Red Square in Moscow on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This was reported by the state news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.

The Turkmen military formation marched in formation in front of the stands, greeting Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who arrived in the Russian capital to participate in the commemorative events.

The source notes that the contribution of the Turkmen people to the Great Victory remains inestimable. The sons of Turkmenistan fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 with outstanding courage, unbending steadfastness and selfless devotion to the Motherland. Their feat became a vivid symbol of patriotism and military valour. The names of the heroes who fell and returned with victory are immortalised forever in the multi-volume collections ‘Hatyra’ and ‘Şöhrat’.
