As part of his working visit to the United States, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the ‘Central Asia+USA’ Summit. This was reported by the news website Asmannews.
During the visit, the President of Turkmenistan was warmly welcomed at the White House, signed the guest book and held negotiations with US President Donald Trump.
The parties confirmed their readiness to further deepen bilateral cooperation and emphasised the importance of Turkmenistan's initiative to declare 2025 the ‘International Year of Peace and Trust.’
The Summit, chaired by Donald Trump, was also attended by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Zhaparov, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The participants discussed strategic areas of cooperation in the fields of security, economy, energy and ecology, and adopted joint statements of intent on economic and cultural cooperation.
At the end of the visit, Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated Aksoltan Atayeva, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN, on her birthday and conveyed to her the best wishes of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Upon his return to Turkmenistan, the Head of State was met by officials.
