On 20 June, during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the announcement of an international tender for the construction of an ammonia and ammonium nitrate production plant in the Mary velayat. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

The proposal to announce the tender was presented by Deputy Prime Minister Baymyrat Annamammedov. The Deputy Prime Minister also reported on the activities of the complex under his supervision, in particular the State Concern ‘Türkmenhimiýa’.

In his report, he noted that active work is currently underway to produce various mineral fertilisers, strengthen the material and technical base of the industry and launch new production facilities.

After listening to the report, the Head of State emphasised the importance of developing the mineral fertiliser industry and noted that modern enterprises equipped with innovative equipment and technologies are being built and put into operation in Turkmenistan.

The President of Turkmenistan instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to take all necessary measures to organise an international tender.
