Today, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov departed for an official visit to the Italian Republic. The Head of State was seen off at Ashgabat International Airport by senior government officials, TDH reports.

A few hours later, the President's plane landed at Leonardo da Vinci International Airport in Rome-Fiumicino, where Serdar Berdimuhamedov was warmly welcomed by Italian officials and members of the Turkmen delegation.

During the visit, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov is scheduled to hold negotiations with Italian leaders, participate in the Turkmen-Italian Business Forum, and attend the opening ceremony of the exhibition ‘Ancient Civilisation of Turkmenistan’ at the Capitoline Museum in Rome.

Following the visit, a package of bilateral documents aimed at further strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Italian Republic is expected to be signed.
