The President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has congratulated the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence. This was reported by the news agency TDH.

In his message of congratulations, the Turkish leader highlighted Turkmenistan’s achievements since gaining independence and extended his best wishes to the Turkmen people.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasised that relations between the two countries, based on historical, religious and cultural ties, can continue to develop in both bilateral and multilateral formats, including within the framework of the Organisation of Turkic States.

The President of the Republic of Turkey also invited Serdar Berdimuhamedov as a guest of honour to the COP31 Leaders Summit, which will take place on 11–12 November 2026 in Antalya.

The President of Turkey wished Serdar Berdimuhamedov good health and happiness, and the people of Turkmenistan well-being and prosperity.
