In connection with media reports about the introduction of partial restrictions on entry into the United States for citizens of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan states that such a decision causes serious confusion and concern on the part of Turkmenistan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The ministry emphasised that the country, which has neutral status recognised by the UN, strictly complies with international migration norms and actively participates in the implementation of relevant conventions.

The Turkmen side recalled that issues related to the movement of citizens are regulated within the framework of bilateral agreements with other states, and any restrictions are usually applied only in cases of serious violations of the law. At the same time, Turkmen citizens travelling abroad, including to the United States, are highly law-abiding.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers the US decision to be premature and not reflecting the level and positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation, including cooperation in the field of migration.
