On 21 October 2025, during an official visit to Georgia, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held negotiations with Foreign Affairs Minister of Georgia Maka Bochorishvili. This was reported by the online news resource TerraNews.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the development of bilateral partnership in the political, economic and humanitarian fields. Particular attention was paid to cooperation within the UN and other international organisations.

The Foreign Ministers emphasised the importance of high-level exchanges and the need for regular inter-ministerial consultations to maintain the momentum of cooperation.

Transport, trade, education, science, sport and tourism were identified as priority areas. The potential for strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, including the organisation of joint cultural events and projects, was noted separately.
