The Chairwoman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the President of Georgia

On 24 February, Chairwoman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova held a meeting with President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili as part of her official visit to the country, according to the press service of the Mejlis.

During the meeting, Gulmanova conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to the Georgian side.

The parties emphasised the active development of bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Particular attention was paid to the role of international law and parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening friendship between nations.

During the talks, the results of previous visits and implemented agreements aimed at expanding mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed. The focus was on the energy, transport, logistics and industrial sectors, including the introduction of modern technologies.

Concluding the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in the further strengthening of Turkmen-Georgian relations.

As part of the visit, the Turkmen delegation, led by Dunyagozel Gulmanova, took part in a wreath-laying ceremony at Heroes' Square in Tbilisi in honour of the heroes of Georgia.
